Collaborative Approaches to Create Positive Prosocial Impact
February 19, 2026 at 3:00 PM CST
Hosted by Melissa G. Bublitz and Laura A. Peracchio
To address the pressing societal problems of our time—poverty, hunger, climate justice, inequity, and others—many new and innovative collaborative relationships will be needed. These can include societal impact partnerships between nonprofits who work to ameliorate societal problems, academics who study these problems, businesses with a social purpose, changemakers, and foundations, philanthropists, and governments who fund the work. In this issue of JACR, we explore collaborative approaches for creating positive societal impact.

The Metaverse: Consumer Behavior and Well-Being
April 25, 2025 at 9:00 am EDT
Hosted by Amitava Chattopadhyay and Haiyang Yang
The metaverse, shaped by a growing spectrum of rapidly advancing technologies, is becoming a major medium for consumption. From how consumers make purchase decisions and form brand relationships to how they develop a sense of self and experience well-being, consumer research can illuminate a plethora of metaverse-related behavioral phenomena and identify the associated mechanisms and implications. Different methodological approaches including experiments, qualitative inquiries, and quantitative analyses can be leveraged to investigate consumer behavior in the metaverse and provide actionable insights for consumers, managers, and policymakers. This JACR issue highlights diverse streams of consumer research on the metaverse and aims to spark new investigations into this emerging domain.
