JACR Policy Board Announces Dr. Andrew D. Gershoff Next Editor in Chief

The JACR Policy Board is pleased to announce that Dr. Andrew D. Gershoff will serve as the next Editor in Chief of the Journal of the Association for Consumer Research (JACR) beginning January 1, 2025. Dr. Gershoff’s selection followed a public call for nominations and a rigorous selection process by the Policy Board. The selection committee was impressed by Dr. Gershoff’s clear articulation of and appreciation for the nuanced nature of the journal, his proven track record of service to ACR, JACR and the discipline, and his desire to engage a diverse group of scholars with the journal. Andy is a Professor of Marketing and Marketing Department Chair at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, where he also holds the Foley’s Professorship in Retailing. He

received his Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Texas. Prior to joining the McCombs School in 2009, Andrew served on the faculty at Columbia Business School and the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. Andy has served as At Large Director for the Association for Consumer Research and as co-chair of the 2018 ACR annual conference in Dallas. His journal service includes review boards for the Journal of Consumer Research, the Journal of Consumer Psychology, the Journal of Retailing, and the International Journal of Research in Marketing. He has also served as a guest editor for JACR.

Andy will be taking over as EIC from Dr. Vicki Morwitz who has led the journal since 2021.
