Conference Format
All presentations at the conference will be delivered in person. If your submission is accepted, you or a co-author must attend to present it.
Ethics Policy
As an ACR community member, you must adhere to our honor code, which you will be asked to pledge before submission. This includes the following:
- ACR endorses ethical standards for research conduct. At the time of submission, you will be asked to make the following pledges: (a) the research being submitted represents accurately the data and phenomena observed, (b) the research submitted to the conference is the original work of you and your coauthors, and (c) the research received an approval or a waiver, as appropriate, from the authors’ Institutional Review Boards (IRB) and participant consent.
- ACR reserves the right to run the submission through anti-plagiarism software, and submissions may be rejected on these bases.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Policy
NEW for ACR2025
ACR25 will require all authors to acknowledge their use of AI (e.g., LLMs) in the research and writing process. We realize that AI can be a helpful tool in different aspects of the research process. In line with his, ACR 2025 will allow AI to be used in assisting in certain stages of the research process, like help with grammar and spelling, stimuli creation and generating code for data analyses. However, AI use is not allowed for intellectual development, data generation, or original writing of the submission. ACR reserves the right to use an AI detection software and other tools to assess the inappropriate use of AI and reserves the right to reject submissions on this basis.
General Submission Guidelines
- ACR 2025 features three main options for authors of empirical, methodological, or conceptual papers. Special Sessions highlight broad interest topics and should include FOUR presentations (or three presentations and discussant) centered around a cohesive topic. Competitive papers submissions are for stand-alone projects, that is mostly complete and will be presented orally. Working Papers submissions are for projects that are earlier stage and is presented in a poster format. Please carefully select the track that is most appropriate for your work.
- No paper may be submitted to more than one track (e.g., a Competitive Paper cannot also be submitted as a Working Paper or Special Session).
- An author may not be listed as a presenter for more than two submissions, but an author may be listed as a co-author on multiple submissions. An author may only submit up to two films. This restriction is to encourage authors to submit their best work and to allow a wider range of presenters.
- The specified author must present. Submitting authors must specify presenters for papers being considered for Special Sessions or Competitive Paper presentations. Author teams who switch presenters without authorization may be restricted from submitting to future ACR conferences.
- Do not submit a paper that has been published or accepted for publication at the time of submission (including online publications and full papers published in prior ACR Proceedings). Submitting authors should monitor this issue carefully.
- Do not resubmit papers that have been presented at an earlier ACR conference. Previously presented papers are grounds for rejection, unless it is substantially different work. Papers presented at regional ACR conferences (e.g., eACR) may be submitted.
