A 2008 special issue of the Journal of Consumer Research on TCR was edited by David Glen Mick.

A 2011 special issue of the Journal of Public Policy and Marketing on TCR has been published, based on discussions and research at the Second Conference on Transformative Consumer Research, which took place in June, 2009 at Villanova University.  An overview of this session can be found here. The lead article from this issue, “From Nutrients to Nurturance: A Conceptual Introduction to Food Well-Being,” won the 2013 Thomas C. Kinnear Award.

A 2013 special issue of the Journal of Business Research on TCR has been published, based on discussions and research at the Third Conference on Transformative Consumer Research, which took place in June, 2011 at Baylor University. For the working paper, click here.

A 2015 special issue of the Journal of Marketing Management on TCR has been published, based on discussions and research at the Fourth Conference on Transformative Consumer Research, which took place in June, 2013 at University of Lille—SKEMA.  Click here for the editorial.

A 2015 special issue on Transformative Service Research was published in the Journal of Service Research in August, 2015.

TCR as an academic movement was coined by David Glen Mick in his 2006 ACR Presidential Address. Click here to read this address.
